What is e-liquid?

E-liquid is a combination of three (sometimes four) ingredients. Vegetable glycerin (VG), Propylene Glycol (PG), flavouring and if you choose it, nicotine, This fluid or e-liquid is deposited into the tank of an e-cigarette. When the e-liquid is heated, a vapour is formed. This vapour is what is inhaled and exhaled during the vaping process. E-liquid comes in a vast range of flavour options and strengths, so you aren't stuck with just the taste of tobacco. There will always be new e-liquids to try and unique blends to experience! The preferred use of PG or VG e liquids is divided amongst vapers, but the advantages of both such bases can be seen here.

What are the e liquid flavour options?

Choosing an e-liquid flavour comes down to personal taste, and there are flavours to cater for everyone. Our e-liquid range includes everything from aniseed to fruity flavours – coconut and chocolate to cola and pink lemonade. If you were using an e-cigarette as a tool to stop smoking, you might begin with a tobacco or menthol flavour, as the taste and feel are more familiar. Ex-smokers who switch to vaping are often amazed at the sheer range of flavours available. You might know what you're looking for or maybe you fancy something new? Either way, you'll be sure to find what you're looking for here.

What types of e-liquid are there?

E-liquids come in different ratios. The ratio refers to vegetable glycerin (VG) and propylene glycol (PG) present in the e-liquid. Each of these liquid types caters for slightly different vaping preferences. The way a person vapes is very much down to their particular taste and motivation. It's important to know that not all e-liquids will work across all devices.

PG e-liquid has a higher ratio of PG to VG. If the aim is to give up smoking, then PG e-liquids are commonly used. PG based juices are thinner in consistency and deliver a “throat hit” more aligned with traditional smoking, whilst still carrying flavour very well. This type of liquid offers higher levels of nicotine and is intended for “mouth-to-lung” (MTL) vape devices.

VG e-liquid has a higher ratio of VG to PG and are therefore a thicker consistency. VG e-liquids are synonymous with creating big, thick clouds and more intense bursts of flavour and come in a whole range of exotic flavours. These liquids are for sub-ohm, higher wattage “direct-to-lung” (DTL) vape devices.

50% PG and 50% VG incorporates the best of both worlds. The result is a liquid full of flavour, A bonus of 50/50 e-liquid is that they can be used in pretty much any device and any tank. Nicotine levels for these liquids range from 0mg to 11mg, so they are ideal for light to medium smokers.

Short fill e-liquids are larger bottles of nicotine-free e-liquid. There is space left in the bottle to add your own preference for nicotine.

How is an e-juice used?

E-liquid may be used in several ways, sometimes delivered in vials for manually refilling cartridges and other times coming in pre-loaded cartridges which may be switched out when the old one is empty. Which option you would choose would dependent on the type of e-cigarette you have chosen to use.

What strength of nicotine e-liquid should I use?

While you might think you should head straight for the highest possible strength, it's not necessarily going to provide you with the most satisfaction. So it'd be worth experimenting to see what satisfies your cravings throughout the first few weeks of vaping. The lowest strength nicotine is generally 3mg, and the highest strength is 20mg with 6mg,12mg and 18mg in between. Reducing the nicotine level is an option that many ex-smokers have used successfully and cut the nicotine out by gradually decreasing until they enjoy nicotine-free, chemical-free, carbon monoxide free vaping.

If you do not smoke, you do not need nicotine. Therefore always select the 0mg option which is available across all e-liquid types.

Is using an e-liquid cheaper than smoking?

The cost of cigarettes increases every single year. For smokers who go through a pack a day, the maths is simple:

£10.40 per pack x 365 days in a year = a whopping £3,796 a year!

Depending on which e-cigarette and e-liquid you choose, it's undoubtedly cheaper than buying traditional tobacco cigarettes. Year on year, the cost for e-cigarettes, e-liquids and accessories has remained consistent.
