OXVA Nexlim Review: Specs, Boost and Eco Modes, and Who It Suits

22nd Oct 2026

Our take on the OXVA Nexlim pod kit, up front: it's the OXVA kit to pick if you want more power than a basic pod kit gives you, and a dual-coil Boost mode to go with it, as long as you're happy to leave any Xlim pods behind. This OXVA Nexlim review explains why, covering the specs, what the two power modes do and how the pods differ from the Xlim range we also stock.

The specs come from our own listing and OXVA's published details, and the advice on how to set it up and who it suits is ours. For the rest of the brand's line-up, see our OXVA brand spotlight.

How the Nexlim Works: Modes, Controls and Airflow

The pod is the reason to buy the Nexlim. Each one holds two small mesh coils, and the two power modes decide how they're used. According to OXVA, Eco fires one coil at a time, swapping between them on each puff to stretch battery and pod life, while Boost fires both together for warmer vapour and more flavour. Each mode also has its own wattage window, set within the recommended range OXVA prints on each pod (see the pod table below), and you can fine-tune the wattage inside it.

That gives you two quite different vapes from one kit. Our advice is to set Eco a little lower for steady daytime use and Boost higher for when you want more flavour, then switch between them as you go. If you forget the button presses, a long press brings the controls up on screen.

It fires on the draw, so there's nothing to hold while you inhale, and the side button handles mode, wattage and screen theme. The airflow slider runs from a tight mouth-to-lung pull to a looser restricted lung draw. With both the 0.6Ω and 0.8Ω pods in the box, you can try both styles before buying anything else.

If battery and pod life are your priority, Eco is the mode to live in. It runs in a lower wattage window, which is easier on the battery, and because it alternates between the two coils, each one gets a rest every other puff, which helps the pod last. How long a pod lasts still comes down to your liquid, your mode and how hard you vape: sweeter liquids and long Boost sessions wear coils out faster.

There are trade-offs. 1500mAh is a modest battery for a kit that reaches 40W, so if you run Boost most of the time, expect to charge more often, though the 2A Type-C charging gets it back to full in around 45 minutes. At 87.5g it's also heavier than the slimmer Xlim pens, which some will read as solid and others as bulky.

Nexlim Pods: What Is Different from Xlim

This is the point we'd want any Xlim owner to know before buying: Nexlim pods are not cross-compatible with the Xlim range. They won't work in Xlim kits such as the Xlim SQ Pro 2, and Xlim pods don't fit the Nexlim either. It's the kit's biggest drawback, and the one we'd weigh most before buying.

Because the coils are built into the pod, you replace the whole pod when it wears out rather than swapping a coil. The Nexlim replacement pods come in packs of three, in three resistances:

Resistance

Recommended power (printed on the pod)

Draw style it suits

0.6Ω

20-40W

Restricted direct-to-lung (RDTL)

0.8Ω

12-32W

Both RDTL and mouth-to-lung (MTL)

1.2Ω

10-25W

Mouth-to-lung (MTL)

OXVA builds the pods with a five-layer leak-proof design, which helps with a side-fill pod you'll be topping up often. It also designs them for liquids with a 50% PG ratio, so if you're choosing an e-liquid to go with it, a 50/50 or a nic salt is the safe pick; thick, high-VG liquids aren't a good match. There's no separate Nexlim coil to buy. Our OXVA coil range covers other OXVA kits, so use it for those devices and not this one.

Our OXVA Nexlim Review Verdict: Is It Worth It?

We'd recommend the OXVA Nexlim to anyone who wants more power and more flavour than a basic auto-draw pod kit offers, and who doesn't mind a few button presses to change mode or wattage. Two pods in the box, an airflow slider and two power modes give you plenty of ways to tune the draw without moving up to a box mod. It's a good fit for a tinkerer happy to start fresh on a new pod system, and for an everyday vaper ready for a step up from an entry-level kit.

We'd steer you elsewhere if you want a device with no settings at all, or you have a drawer of Xlim pods you'd like to keep using. In either case, a simpler kit or an Xlim-family device will suit you better.

OXVA Nexlim vs Xlim SQ Pro 2

Both are OXVA pod kits with screens and adjustable airflow, but they run on different pod platforms.

FAQs

Are Nexlim pods compatible with Xlim kits?

No. Nexlim pods don't fit Xlim kits, and Xlim pods don't fit the Nexlim. If you want to keep using Xlim pods, choose an Xlim-family kit instead.

What is the difference between Boost and Eco mode?

According to OXVA, Eco fires one of the pod's two mesh coils at a time, alternating between them, to make the battery and pod last longer. Boost fires both coils together for warmer vapour and more flavour, at the cost of faster battery drain. Each mode has its own wattage range, which you can adjust.

How long does a Nexlim pod last?

It depends on the liquid, the mode and how hard you vape. Running Eco, which fires one coil at a time, and avoiding very sweet liquids will help a pod last longer. Because the coils are built in, you replace the whole pod when the flavour fades or starts to taste burnt.

Does the Nexlim work with nic salts?

Yes. The pods are designed for 50% PG liquids, which includes 50/50 e-liquids and nic salts. Very thick, high-VG liquids aren't recommended.
