With a decent DIY coil build, this Geekvape Griffin RTA (22mm) offers the performance of a pro dripper with the added convenience of a 3.5ml capacity Pyrex glass e liquid tank. Even with a base diameter of 22mm, the Griffin RTA comes with 16mm of deck space. That’s more than enough room for a juicy, dual Clapton build. Top filling, controllable vertical airflow and an adjustable, gold-plated positive pin make this a must-have RTA for serious DIY coil vapers!
Instead of using factory-made replaceable coils, an RTA (rebuildable tank atomizer) comes with a DIY build deck. With a little practice, it’s easy to wind your own coils from a length of Kanthal, Stainless Steel, or even guitar-string style ‘Clapton’ coil wire. If winding your own coils is too much hassle, many more vape shops now sell pre-wound coil wires at a fraction of the price of a replaceable coil head. The Griffin RTA doesn’t come with coil wire or wicking cotton, so you’ll need to stock-up on these essentials if you don’t have spares at home.
Geekvape’s design gurus have engineered the Griffin RTA’s build deck to maximise the available space for your DIY coils. The Griffin’s two rectangular posts are set up in a classic, Velocity layout. Four terminal connectors make it easy to create a reliable, dual coil build in just a few minutes. Terminal spacing between the Velocity posts is 6mm. The Griffin RTA tool and spares kit comes with a special Allen key for the hex-head screws in the posts. Once fitted, each coil is ventilated from below by a wide, vertical airflow port.
With your DIY build installed, wicked and primed, the Griffin RTA is just like any other high performance, sub-ohm tank. Unscrew the top-cap for access to 2 gigantic, kidney-shaped fill ports. Take a moment before and after filling to ensure that you’ve got the Griffin’s e juice flow control on the right setting. An adjustable base ring gives you full control of two, 12mm x 2mm cyclops air slots. The Griffin comes fitted with a wide-bore Delrin drip-tip – dig the special 510 adapter out of the spares bag if you prefer to use your own standard tip.
